When you’re looking for a job, recruitment fairs or jobs fairs can be a great source of useful information. You can go along, meet prospective employers face to face, find out a bit more about companies or industries you’re interested in, and sometimes even pick up practical skills to help you write your CV or perform well at interview.

Wednesday 18thSeptember 2019, 10am-2pm
Horfield Job Centre, South Gloucestershire
South Gloucestershire Council have teamed up with the Department for Work & Pensions (DWP) to host a job fair and advice day including wide range of industries from catering and construction to retail, offering a range of full-time, part-time, temporary, permanent and even seasonal vacancies.
You’ll be able to meet with a variety of employers and to discuss face to face the current and upcoming vacancies available, as well as apprenticeships that might be open to you.
Companies such as The Range, Royal Mail, Marks and Spencer’s and Aldi will be in attendance and you’ll also find tips for effective CV writing and guidance on accessing training.

Bristol Engineering & Technology Careers Fair, We The Curious, Millennium Square
Sponsored by GKN Aerospace, and featuring some of Bristol’s best and brightest – BAE Systems, SSE and Stantec, Bristol Engineering & Technology Careers Fairis a great port of call if you’re interested in a career in this field.
You’ll be able to talk to industry experts about what it’s like to work in engineering and tech as well as finding out what training opportunities might be available to support you. And you don’t need to worry if you don’t have experience in the industry, this recruitment fair is for everyone whether you’re looking for an apprenticeship, placement or internship or whether you’re a recent graduate or looking to return to work after a period of absence.

Newport Jobs Fair, Newport Centre
Newport City Council will be holding their annual jobs fairin October. Organised by the council's Work Based Learning Academy in partnership with Jobcentre Plus, the event will host a number of businesses such as Admiral, Allied HealthCare, JD sports, HMRC and more. So why not head along, chat to potential employers and find out more about the opportunities on offer?

Cardiff Careers Fair, Holiday Inn Cardiff City Centre
Cardiff Careers Fair, taking place in late October, will give you the chance to meet local employers and find out about a wide variety of roles. You will be able to ask questions face to face and get to know a bit about the companies that are of interest to you. Even better, there’s no need to register and you can just turn up on the day.

Cheltenham and Gloucester Jobs Fair, Cheltenham Town Hall
Head over to the Cheltenham and Gloucester Jobs Fair, located at Cheltenham Town Hall. Here you’ll find a mixture of different employers from various industries all recruiting for local jobs. You’ll be able to register with employers for jobs, collect info, ask questions, apply for jobs and even pick up some interview skills. This event is free to attend with no registration required.
Friday 8th November 2019, 10am – 1pm
The Bristol Jobs Fair, Colston Hall, Bristol
TheBristol Jobs Fairis centrally located and easy to get to being just a 10 minute walk from Temple Meads and close to the city’s bus station. Open to everyone from 16-65, including school leavers, graduates, people who have been made redundant, people looking for a career change and those who are unemployed and looking to get back into work. You’ll find representatives and companies from all sectors and industries.

WorldSkills UK LIVE, Birmingham NEC
Perfect for those heading towards the end of their education or at the beginning of their careers, free event WorldSkills UK LIVEcould help you figure out what you’d like to do and how to make the most of your limited work experience. With large employers such as IBM, Jaguar, Landrover and the NHS you’ll be in good hands as you get to ‘try out’ careers for size and get information and guidance about training and routes to a range of careers in different industries.
