Job Summary

An exciting opportunity has surfaced for a quality technician to join a leading business at their site in Newport.

The purpose of this role is to assure the quality of products throughout the product lifecycle. You will support the product lifecycle quality assurance, through the complete manufacturing process, and take responsibility for ensuring that processes and procedures are in place and adhered to in relation to product quality. You will also support FAI (in assembly and MU), Dimensioning, Audit and Compliance, end of line inspection and release.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• To work with the operational manager and operational team as well as the other quality teams, to help define quality objectives in line with company objectives.
• Responsible for measuring the quality of products and services delivered, with respect to the specified objectives.
• To help ensure that appropriate action plans are implemented and carried out, and measure their effectiveness.
• To support and conduct audits (where requested) and OJT in accordance with regulations, company procedures and customer requirements.
• To support the implementation of the industrial validation process and help maintain the validation process.
• To contribute to QRQC as methods authority.
• To help analysis of all data to develop quality improvement plans (effectiveness and efficiency).
• To contribute to and support the qualification and quality training of operators.
• To help ensure that products and services delivered to customers have gone through the appropriate manufacturing/repair/validation process by:

- Defining, updating and ensuring compliance with the key points for achieving quality.

- Supporting the due processing of customer dissatisfaction, non-compliance (production) and/or deviations from maintenance data (MRO).

- Stop any action that could have an unacceptable impact on the quality of a product and propose the necessary conditions for restart.

• Once trained, act as signatory for EASA form one for parts and product for release and as a Certificate of Conformity signatory

General:

• To protect customers from non-quality, by ensuring that products and practices comply with regulations, customer requirements and Safran standards and promoting a culture of prevention and anticipation
• To drive continuous improvement, by capitalizing on factual data and feedback and providing the necessary support for all company functions
• To undertake other reasonable duties, in line with business needs and objectives, which are consistent and commensurate with the overall purpose of the position

The successful will have:

• Apprenticeship level or equivalent in an Engineering discipline.
• Sound engineering / quality background, with experience of Quality inspection within a manufacturing / engineering industry.
